Unite Interactive is proud to have worked with Wabanaki in Motion NB: Roots to Stars, delivering a custom digital strategy and web design to support the ground-breaking Indigenous STEAM-learning initiative across New Brunswick.
Wabanaki in Motion NB: Roots to Stars brings hands-on, culturally relevant education in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) directly to Indigenous youth and rural communities. At the heart of the initiative is a state-of-the-art, custom-built mobile technology and innovation unit-a mobile makerspace designed to travel directly to schools and community centers throughout the province.
Co-led by the Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) and the McKenna Institute at the University of New Brunswick, the program bridges traditional cultural knowledge with modern technology to create transformative educational pathways for young learners.
Unite Interactive worked closely with project leadership to design and build an engaging digital strategy and web presence that showcases the program's vision, facilitates community engagement, and provides resources for participating schools and partners.
"Supporting an initiative that empowers Indigenous youth through culturally rooted, future-focused technology education aligns deeply with our core values," said Mike Bettens, CEO of Unite Interactive. "We are honored to have played a role in bringing the digital vision of Wabanaki in Motion NB to life."
The expansion and reach of Wabanaki in Motion NB: Roots to Stars are made possible through generous funding from the Mastercard Foundation EleV Program and the TD Ready Challenge. Their investments continue to expand access to community-based STEAM learning, fostering skills development and long-term career opportunities for Indigenous youth across New Brunswick.
